  10th Anniversary Embroidered Patch Featuring the Anniversary logo and Dorian’s bow, this is a 3-inch embroidered twill patch.  It will be $4 alone or free with any purchase of our specials (full run of Apprentice, 2 matted prints or 2 glasses.) 10th Anniversary Glasses Available at Animecentral 2017! The first piece of anniversary merchandise are these 12 0z. glasses etched with the sign of “The Drunken Unicorn,” Catarina’s tavern in The Apprentice. The reverse has the 10th Anniversary logo.  These are very nice, sturdy glasses, dishwasher safe, with a lifetime guarantee on the imprint.  This will be the only run of the anniversary design-any future glasses will have a different design, so be sure to pick it up, loyal readers! Apprentice Volume 3 update!

Apprentice 3 is still on track to be completed this year. The 10th Anniversary party launch party may end up being a winter thing, due to some unavoidable consequences of surgery. (So pizza rather than barbecue.) All that needs to be completed for the book are the illustrations for issue 12, which are in progress, and the cover painting. Both of these will be completed in the next 2 months. [ 90 more words ]

Apprentice Volume 3 Cover Painting, Part 1

Apprentice Volume 3 Cover Painting, Part 1.
Working on the 3rd volume cover. I'm trying to document this painting start to finish. I have a bad habit of forgetting to film entire sections when I do timelapses.
I don't usually work this large-all my work is intended for publication initially, so there are benefits to working small. However, I injured my wrist late last year and it's less painful to move my whole arm while painting.
This is all underpainting. It will be an autumn scene, so much of this drab gray will be covered with bright color later.
Due to my wrist injury, I'm only able to work in short bursts. This is about 4 hours worth of work spread out over several days.
